Joe: GOP Came Up With Laughable Defenses During Hearing | Morning Joe | MSNBC

  1. Doesn’t look like they have a clear defense yet, still flinging feces at the wall to see what sticks.
It’s laughable. They hopefully will face backlash at the ballot box.

  2. Republicans:
β€œWell sure he TRIED to extort Ukraine, but he wasn’t successful. If you try to do something illegal and fail that means it isn’t a crime!”

    Democrats:
β€œEveryone in prison for attempted murder and attempting to purchase drugs are waiting for their pardons from Trump.”

    1. @Guns and Abortions Simultaneously Go ahead and point out what didn’t happen. Everything that I said is accurate, and just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it untrue.

Also, do you want to go ahead and explain why Bill Taylor, George Kent, and Gordon Sondland all decided to lie, and conveniently, their stories corroborated each other?

    2. @Reese Hale – but it didn’t go down that way. Ukraine had already been getting these missiles from the US for the past 2 years. Something that the Trump administration was willing to do while the Obama administration refused to provide that type of aid. Repeat – Trump was getting them the much needed help that Obama refused. However, with the new president taking over, Trump simply wanted to make sure that future US taxpayer military aid wasn’t going to wind up in a sh*t hole like what was happening with previous aid sent to Ukraine. And the slight delay had no impact on what was happening on the ground at the time. Appropriations don’t work that way. It’s not a simultaneous transfer, it take several months to work through the system before arriving to the recipient. No, I don’t see what the problem is. Nor does most of the American public, which is why he won’t be removed from office.

    3. Dwayne Coy You must’ve drank 2 BIG cups of that Kool Aid if you believe that crazy Trumped up rationale! The money was held up in order to pressure Ukraine to do the investigations(Biden/Election meddling). It’s in the RECORD. Mulvaney and Sondland SAID so. Furthermore, the holding up of the money was in violation of the law! The act authorizing the Security Aid specifically said that after the Defense Department has verified that the money would be used for defense purposes and CLEARED it to be released (As they did in MAY 2019) it SHALL BE RELEASED. Why do you think Trump had to put a political appointee in OMB to sign off on the apportionments? Because the career bureaucrats in OMB refused to do it because it was an UNLAWFUL order. Also the bureaucrat who initially signed off on the temporary apportionment is slated to testify IN DEFIANCE of the White House because he knows that he has criminal exposure for signing off on the apportionment. Also if the money was NOT released by the end of the upcoming fiscal year it would be forfeited. (September 30th) Trump was planning to run out the clock on it.

Any OTHER facts you need clarification on?

  3. I don’t remember checking a box that said Trump could us MY tax dollars as a personal piggy bank for his re-election campaign.

    1. or for flights on Air Force One to golfing excursions and campaign rallies, secret service, hotel rooms &meals for secret service.Or for that WALL !

    2. Lynnchotoo Cho
And enjoying buggers and coke with prostitution running wild at every stop
While Children are Crying in Cages with No healthy food or water
Let alone toilet paper or bathrooms.

How much longer can this earth exist if we continue to Look the other way in fear of our own security ⁉️⁉️

    3. @Antony Stringfellow You are so right to point this out. Some media outlets make it sound as though it was his money to proffer a bribe with. It’s actually more like extortion a d bribery with money he stole. He had no legal right to withhold the money for any reason.

    1. @Guns and Abortions Simultaneously
All of those who have *first hand knowledge*
(Giuliani, Perry, Bolton, Mulvaney) have been order *NOT* to testify.

    2. @ARJUNA BROOKLYN True. We’re lucky that Vindman disobeyed orders so we could have a first-hand account of the famous July 25th call. For which testimony he has already been transferred–not to mention smeared on TV as a Ukrainian spy because he came here as a three-year-old.

    3. Lindsay was taught not to read things that were factualΒ  ..Β  only things that were what he believedΒ  ..Β  right or wrong did not matter!!Β  In other words he is a “foam dome”!!

    4. @Guns and Abortions Simultaneously Imagine if you were shot and named your killer, but only one person was close enough to hear you. You die and that one person names your killer, you really want people to ignore them? I am more self centered and aware of others… I would want my words to matter, even if they have to be passed through others. Especial, if the threat hurts others too.

    5. Andie Isabella The problem with your hypothetical is that there would be an actual crime committed if I was murdered, and the hearsay is about who committed it and would be investigated. In this situation, you’re trying to find the actual crime based on hearsay and that’s ridiculous. This whole situation came about from hearsay by the whistleblower.

    1. @RICHARD F come on the garbage demorats have been crying for impeachment before he was sworn in. It’s a setup hit job. Surely you are blind if you can’t see it.

    2. @Jim Russell …. Oh, I’m so not blind. I grew up in Vegas and most of us have loathed Conald Trump for decades. He had very few fans even 4 years ago. He has been a grifter his whole life so nobody needs to set him up. Seriously, he lies dozens of times a day and you are obviously either too stupid to realize or too proud to admit you’ve been duped. Good luck.

  4. Laughing but crying at the same time- a Senate that will allow crimes to be committed by our president, even when it is so absolutely clear.

    1. @Little Mac86currently we rate bottom with India on a list of the best/worst democracies. SWITZERLAND IS BEST, then, Norway, Sweden, Canada, and on and on.

    1. @Fred Bretz The constitution says that Congress and only Congress has the right to create or alter a budget. The president can veto it, but once it’s passed, there’s nothing the president can do to change it. Congress allocated around $400 million in military aid to be sent to Ukraine, and that budget was passed. By ordering that the aid be withheld despite having no authority over that money the president violated our government’s checks and balances.

    2. @votes- have consequences litle talked about as of yet is how all this ties to multi-million dollar Ukrainian oil contracts.

    1. I want to see Jim Jordan investigated for purposely not investigating the long-term child molester that he knew about.

    1. @Perry Walton living wage have always existed, get a skill and gain some knowledge, McDonald’s and Walmart weren’t designed for someone’s career choice

  5. It is a convincing argument that the military aid WAS ONLY RELEASED AFTER THE SH*T HIT THE FAN and Trump’s extortion shakedown was made public.

  6. Let me see, who do I believe 2 men that have impeccable records of public service and decades of honorable family military history or one arrogant, draft-dodging loud-mouth that is a known and confessed liar?

    1. Simple answer to that question. And, the Repukes were trying so hard to discredit these two brave Americans. What a pity the GOP couldn’t take a page out of these professionals playbook.

  7. Republicans: β€œThe hearings shouldn’t be behind closed doors!”
Democrats: β€œOk. We’ll make it public.”
Republicans: β€œNo! It’s all bad! Who made these rules anyway?”
    Democrats: β€œUm….you did.”
    Republicans: β€œ……………WITCH HUNT!”

    1. LMFAO RIGHT!!!! DUMMIES DIDN’T KNOW THERE OWN RULES WOULD BE USED AGAINST THEM!!! CAN’T STOP LAUGHINGπŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
