How did three endangered orcas off the coast of B.C. die?

From the perspective of conserving the endangered orcas, scientists say they just lost two breeding males and a beloved older female.

  2. Presumably orcas get ill and die or meet with misfortune or lose territorial challenges from rival (possibly migratory) pods just as they always have. We don’t need to make it seem so apocalyptic.
    Yes, they may have taken a liking to swallowing plastic rubbish which seems to be the newest alarm call. Until we have evidence of that, it’s as sensible as anything to take it as an unfortunate blip in a small population.
