Republicans have a lot of courage when they can monetarily benefit from it. Shameful!
Actually, Bolton deliberately held his book release until after the trial so as not to unduly influence the outcome. Had he released the book earlier it would have been a boon to sales because everyone wants to know what contributions he’d present as a witness. By waiting until after he testifies it is costing him a small fortune. Had he wanted to maximize his earnings he would have released it the minute the NSC gave him the clearance.

@C&B Jones- The manuscript was given to the Nation Security Council on December 30th so they could vet it for security risks. There were none. Bolton could publish anytime after that.
It’s not that telling the truth would influence the trial. It would be the run-away assumptions that people do with the truth that he wanted to avoid. So, tell the truth live and answer questions from the people that are paid to listen to it, and later publish the book that explains everything to the rest of us when our misconceptions cannot do any harm.
