I agree, but it’s better than nothing when soap and water isn’t readily available. I keep a travel size of Purell in my purse and car, but I’ve always done that. I’ve seen a lot of women leave public restrooms after using the toilet without washing their hands.
the commercial hand sanitizers are just rubbing alcohol. buy all you want. no matter how much of a run you make on it at the stores, it will never run out. or go up in price.
just pour some alcohol on your hands after you wash them with soap. or during. or before. or all three.
Remember, use a paper towel on door handles to protect yourself when you leave a rest room. There’s usually a trash receptacle outside so you can dispose of that paper towel or folded TP after you leave.

@Pink Crayon, the SK CDC are not SAYING anything different from the US CDC, what they are DOING is totally different and that is what matters. The US CDC is an empty shell, fund-starved and resource-gutted by the Trump administration while the SK CDC is going full steam ahead in dealing with COVID-19. Because all (well, almost all) COVID-19 cases in South Korea have been documented, their statistics (e.g. fatality ratio, currently approx. 0.6%) are likely to be the most reliable and indicative of what can be achieved by a functioning health care system.
The current US fatality rate is at 4.2% – an invalid number because the US authorities have no idea about the actual number of COVID-19 cases.
