    Inclusivity.

    • But THAT, to the Republicans, is intolerance & exclusivity: when Democrats and Liberals run Natives, Asians, Blacks, Muslims, tons of women, Gays & Lesbians… it is a very negative and exclusive thing… such acts EXCLUDE very gentle, Trump loving, & diverse Conservative Whites, the MOST persecuted group in America.

    • @HenryDavidT LOL

  2. We the people can overcome gerrymandering. We just have to go out and vote in our true numbers.

    • Randy Smith Most of the (racial) gerrymandering that was done was by the Republicans especially States that have a high African American population like Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi, etc.

    • @Dan N. True but Republican gerrymandering affects Hispanics, Native Americans, and urban people of all colors too.

    • ruth depew It can but gerrymandering isn’t new. It has for a long time meant to target African Americans since we almost exclusively vote democrat and we are just as likely to go out and vote as whites. We also tend to live in dense urban area which makes it easier to “group” us in one district or “crack” to dilute the black vote.

Other people of color might group in these urban areas but the main target is AA, unless it’s partisan gerrymandering.

Native Americans evenly vote for both parties so they wouldn’t go after them (and they make up a very small pop.) This could also be said about Asians.

Predominantly Latino areas haven’t been targeted that I know of, I may be wrong. But different nationalities of Latinos lean conservative others Liberal. Republicans are pandering to the Latinos in Florida that lean conservative so I don’t think they would shoot themselves in the foot.

    • @Dan N. Accurate numbers on Native Americans living in the general population are hard to come by, but reservation inhabitants overwhelmingly vote Democratic, but turn out is low because few polling places are on the reservation and long drives are needed in order to vote.

    • ruth depew Oh really, I’ve been told otherwise. Thanks for letting me know. Yea they need to add more polling places near reservations and near low income areas.

  3. Congratulations to the new Senator elect!

  4. Change. Some people fear it. I embrace it. I’m no coward like the right.

    • Yeah, I think you’re just trolling, Pokeboy

    • @greyfox37 Most Islamic countries are far more conservative than most Christian countries is what I was saying

    • @John M Really haha this is a classic from people who are still denying Obama and what he did to help our country, so all of the sudden we’re supposed to like a grifter a liar and a want to be mob boss

    • david Rhodes And yet it wasn’t Obama who started the Trade war with China. It wasn’t Obama improving our economy. It wasn’t Obama who improved our relations with Russia and North Korea. It wasn’t Obama who said “America First.” Sounds like you need to look in a mirror kettle. Cause you’re calling the pot black.

You couldn’t praise Trump if he solved world hunger.

    • Thirteen 13 been to San Francisco lately, Democrats ruined that beautiful city.

  5. Religion is not exactly democratic.

  6. Bravo Virginia!

  7. Congrats

  8. Well, it looked like I was redistricted me yet again. Last time I was able to help vote Eric Cantor out of office (yeah, they let anyone declare if they are voting in the Democratic or Republican Primaries in Virginia, so I was able to help vote him out of office by voting on another Republican in the primaries). By the time the next election rolled around, I had been redistricted back to the district that I had been in before. (Note: I haven’t moved and I’ve been redistricted apparently at least 3 times in the last 10-15 years).
This time around, I was happy to be able to vote for Ghazala Hashmi.
Usually, I get to vote for Jennifer McClellan. I voted for her in the House of Delegates for years and for her seat on the Senate.
I certainly hope that Commonwealth Senator Ghazala Hashmi goes to Senator Jennifer McClellan for advice on the in-and-outs of how the Commonwealth governmental system works in Virginia. There are tons of old school gimmicks in the governmental procedure. Senator Jennifer McClellan has been pretty good about rooting them out and bringing them to the forefront.
With a majority of Democrats in office, I can only hope some of these old school procedural control issues can be removed from the inner workings of the Commonwealth government structure/protocol.
Commonwealth Senator Ghazala Hashmi, I’m looking forward to seeing you succeed in the Senate of Virginia.
