  1. Exactly how it should? There is currently, a population larger than Canada’s under lockdown because of this virus and we are supposed to think that self reporting is adequate?

    1. Apparently self report is first class disease detection system in Canada. It took a lot of investments to design signs telling passengers to self report. This is the same genius strategy as “Canada is open for business” signs by the Harper and Ford governments.

    2. @A CB Not to mention the first case didn’t even report his symptoms to the border agents. I think i’d feel safer in the Philippines or Australia at this point. Patty, Justin and Francois-Philippe are a disgrace to this country. The history books wont be kind to them.

    1. @Christina Bragge Thankyou. So why then is Canada not quarantining for 14 days anyone who is arriving from Wuhan or in any infected area ?
Just asking why our protocol is not congruent with others who say the same? No wonder the confusion?

    1. I hope Canadians will remember this, when election time comes again!!! Putting Canadian citizens at risk!

  2. Every other country has claimed that this virus IS contagious BEFORE displaying symptoms. Our health minister says otherwise? Are you kidding me? RESIGN NOW.

  3. She sure down plays the situation like it is a common cold. I didn’t hear one clear answer from her. Can’t believe she is Health Minister. I smell a rat. The “situation”, whenever I hear that instead of calling what it is raises questions when there are really no stated answers.

  4. Her answer seems incorrect. What we know about the disease right now is that asymptomatic transmission has been confirmed. By the time the health minister comes up with a plan to evacuate trapped Canadians, the pandemic will be over…

  5. Dear Government – CLOSE THE BORDERS and PLACE ALL THAT HAVE RECENTLY ARRIVED IN QUARANTINE!!! Please!

  6. We have narsissistic officials that talk more about how “great” they are, than safe guarding Canadians from this virus shedding. There are credible research papers based on this outbreak that show an RO of 2.68 (Flu is 1.28) a complication rate of 20% (think respirators in the hospital) clear evidence of asymptomatic transmission and even a prolonged shedding of the virus after the patient is becoming well. Canadian officials need to follow the science, not politics in this matter.

  7. Incompetence at its finest right there!
Unfortunately this time it’s at the cost of our lives and not just our jobs or wallets.
