Jeremy Backup My father was a devoted Republican (not so for my mother, my sisters, or me). One of my father’s key beliefs about participatory democracy was the proposition that public education was critical for raising an informed electorate. It is so pathetic that any politician would undermine education. It is a value that goes back to classical Greece and Rome. How much more conservative can a position be than echoing values that are over 2,000 years old?

Our family is a military family. My dad, step brother, father in law, husband and myself were all military serving. The House of Representatives files the Articles of Impeachment, it is EXACTLY the same as filing the charges in the Judicial branch of our Government, it can get down to one vote. The Senate is the Jury, at least 2/3rds have to find them guilty, THAT didn’t happen, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is the judge.

What we are seeing is the tail end of the longest period of growth in the American economy in history. It began in 2009 – when Obama was elected. It is now sputtering and failing, largely due to gravity, but also due to Trump’s inept bungling.
American GDP growth is slightly ahead of Japan’s, which is a tenth of a percent lower, but ALL of the OECP countries, including the US, are seeing reduced business activity compared to last year. We are about to head into recession – there is no doubt of this.
