Omg! Does nobody remember that Texas or Tejas was part of Mexico ???? True Texans are actually Mexican descendents. This is not a hard fact to check. Everything from Pacific all the way to Louisiana/Arkansas was at one time part of New Spain and subsequently, Mexico.
Remember the Alamo was the battle cry of murdering thieves that stole Texas and western territories, such as Arizona, New Mexico, California, and Utah. This was the war of Mexico in 1848. Read the Monroe doctrine. Just another way to take land from other counties, and no one but the United States in this hemisphere can do this and all other countries stay away.
@Richard Russell No it wasn’t, Texas wanted to be annexed into the United States from Mexico which led to the Mexican War because of Mexican leader Santa Anna became a dictator and they revolted and the Texans defeated his army and declared their independence in 1836 and Texas wanted to join the union but the northerners did not want another slave state in which president Polk called for adding Texas, Arizona, California and Oregon which led to the Mexican War and ended with the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo which Mexico recognized the Texas annexation and ceded California, New Mexico, and the land between them to the United States!!!
