    1. @Geralt Rivia I’m quite serious, this is well known throughout law enforcement communities. Several large law enforcement departments under report crimes. For example homicides aren’t reported as such due to the criteria they use. Your can read more about with a simple search on the topic. Check out Chicago Magazine “The Truth About Chicago’s
      Crime Rates: Part 2

Murder makes the headlines, but crimes like
theft and assault are far more common in
Chicago—and your chances of being a victim
may be higher than the police are telling you.

I don’t think cops don’t care about communities. I think corrupt politicians care about their image to get reelected and they lie about the actual crime statistics in order to provide a facade that they are tough / effective on crime, by manipulating data.

    2. @First Last Of course theft and assault are more common than what’s reported. If police reported every little instance of domestic violence or assault that occurs, the numbers would be staggering.
It’s human to get angry. Reporting for serious crimes is another story as there are laws about that.
I really don’t buy this narrative that they are hiding double digits serious crime rates, it’s ridiculous.

    1. Dadson worldwide and now if we can lock those criminals up in places like West Virginia and the Dakota’s we can get a hold on the opioid crisis!!

    2. cnn fredo fake news and enemy of the people, she told the police to stand down, they re not reporting crime, so it makes it seem like less crime, she lies to you and begs people to come back to Chicago because people are leaving due to high crime ans new taxes,

    3. A Team how can you not report a murder? Violent crimes have victims. You were trying to sound smart but ended looking dumb.

    4. @Joel Vance NOT all violent crimes involved a murder… Like ALL democrat mayors…
She along with the city council have told the police chief to have police stand down…
If cases aren’t being investigated or prosecuted… LESS crime recorded
      THEN LESS crime statistics…

    5. Resident Evil I didn’t say all but violent crimes has a victim like rape or assault. The US have more incarcerated people than anywhere on earth. This is beyond D&R. But if you are going to blame democrats for high crime you should hold republicans equally as harsh considering 8 out of the 10 poorest and least educated states are red states.

  1. More work and housing. If someone is concentrating on jobs and home, they care more about the community. THAT is the power of a strong capitalist society.

  2. RIGHT ON ” MISS LORI”👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾✊️🏾

  3. Yes. Using every technical advantage to keep Chicago safe is an excellent start. And connecting with the citizens in every community helps crime . Preventing and solving.
It’s great to see Mayor Lightfoot doing things to help stop, keep down and fight crime in Chicago.

    1. BB, rap music is the propaganda that encourages black America to act in a threatening manner and scare away employment opportunities thus creating vast oceans of intergenerationally learners helplessness. Hollywood and fake media own black America until they wake up and reject the poison. Curse music ain’t called curse music for no reason!

    2. Jeremy, rap music is the weapon! Stop listening to it or face eternity living around low employment opportunity pretending you don’t understand! Rap music is slave music because it teaches black America to act in a threatening manner: Hollywood and fake media own you until you reject the poison!

    1. Did they not report last year was the worst in murders for a long time. Umm thou believe her fucking lies? Your a fucking idiot.

  4. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
    Congratulations, Madam Mayor!
(Now, beware that Trump will take credit for it. Don’t allow him!)

    1. Did they not report last year was the worst in murders for a long time. Umm thou believe her fucking lies? Your a fucking idiot.

    1. The numbers come from the justice department…same justice department led by a president and an atty general who hate Chicago. I have studied this stuff. including the numbers for years. If you are capable of reading anything more than 240. characters, you might try several of the academic histories of policing in large cities… these are real numbers and can be verified by comparing violent trauma numbers from hospitals in Chicago.

    2. @missourimomofthree reports last year were of the massive increase in murders. So how can her lies be true? Dummy can’t be both!

    3. Daniel, you know nada about Trump supporters because your culture is responsible for so many atrocities you can only pray that virtue signalling might save you from your eternal shame lolololol 🏌️

I’m ppl could afford to move like that. Ghettos wouldn’t exist.

So saying gentrification is dropping crime is like saying you don’t have to change diapers on a stillborn.

Kinda vivid and dramatic but a very fair point.

    2. Rap music creates ghettos: it teaches blacks to act in a threatening manner and scares away business leaving no employment opportunities. Welfare takes over and so too intergenerational hopelessness – all because of the propaganda of rap music… Hollywood owns black America until they wake up and say no to rap music! Rap music is slave music!

    3. Abbott IsGone yes Ghettos were created BY rap music….🙄….as opposed to all of the other areas across the globe with high violence and drug use rates (eg mexico, favelas of Brazil, Philippines, shantytowns of African countries, London, Liverpool, etc), that were created through poverty….

Here’s a hint..the homicide rate of Chicago and # of total murders was higher prior to rap music even existing.

    1. mm328 mm328 Oh, I’m sure you would. Meanwhile I’ll enjoy the happy news! 😃
To be cynical is to rob yourself on hope and trust. We need both to adress the issues of tomorrow. 💪

  5. Technology huh? I guess we should be asking help from Omni Consumer Products in sister city Delta City for their input. I’d buy that for a dollar!

  6. I love hearing this kind of news! 😁 🇺🇸 i live in Hawai’i, where crime is really low and I feel it’s because our communities are all so close and look out for each other..,so it’s great to see that it’s working in Chicago. 😁

  7. Blk folks know what was really going on, the main ones who was supposed to be solving the problems was creating it themselves.
