Baltimore protesters hurled rocks and bricks at police officers in riot gear Monday, injuring seven, on the day of the funeral for Freddie Gray, a 25-year-old who died after being injured in police custody. The demonstrators also smashed police cars and looted stores.

“We will find the people that are responsible, and we will put them in jail,” said Baltimore police Capt. Eric Kowalczyk. “They have broken bones, one of them is unresponsive. This is not okay.”

Around the Mondawmin Mall, protesters have stopped throwing rocks and bricks, and the scene is relatively calm. However, lines of police are still blocking off the streets.
