ENERGY AND PORTS AND THE PUBLIC SERVICE
Fellow Dominicans, it is a privilege for me to address you once again in this most delightful season of joy, warmth, giving and renewal; this time as the Minister for Public Utilities, Energy, Ports and the Public Service. This Year 2007 began with much promise, then in August, we were faced with our most serious challenge since the austerity measures, as Hurricane Dean devastated our agricultural economy and inflicted serious damage to our physical infrastructure. We responded with speed, determination and a purposefulness never seen before, and we expect to see a rebounding of agriculture, continued growth in tourism and accelerated redevelopment of our physical infrastructure."
