21 -year-old Kathleen Ferreira says she is dedicated to the development of her homeland Dominica. and sees her participation in the 2002 Carnival Queen competition as the ideal opportunity to make a contribution. The petite beauty also identifies unemployment as an area of concern and vows to do her part to empower youth to become self-sufficient. A graduate of the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School, Miss Ferreira is presently employed as a sales representative, secretary and junior draftsman at Super Woods Product. With hopes of a career in engineering, she is pursuing part-time studies at the Clifton Dupigny Community College (Technical Division) in Building Engineering, Management Resources and Valuation.
