Joanne Jno. Baptiste, out of the village of Mahaut emerges a rare and beautiful gem. She describes herself as intelligent and gifted and lives by the motto "The best thing in life is doing what other people say you can't do." According to 20-year-old Joanne Jno. Baptiste her life is driven by the guidance and strength from God, the conlidence she has built in herself and support from her family. Born in the fishing community of San Sauveur, Joanne is a former student of the Convent High School and the Clifton Dupigny Community College. She is interested in pursuing further studies in law and business administration. She is presently employed at the Dominica Broadcasting Corporanon as a news reporter. An outgoing, community-oriented individual, Joanne also has a passion for poetry, computers and sports.

Joanne is no stranger to the stage, having emerged first runner-up in the Miss Zodiac Noel Pageant 2000 and was a contestant in the National Creole Couples competition 2001.
